My Facial Facts: Is Your Skin The Best It Can Be?

Here is a letter with questions from one of our readers. We thought it may be of value to you to read his concerns and our answer:

I think I may have rosacea.

I’m a light-skinned, Hispanic male, about to turn 21 years old.

I live in rural south Texas… extremely hot.

Here’s why:

1. I get red easily! laughing, smiling, exercise, coughing, just thinking I may get red results in redness…

2. Since January of this year the area around my nose… nostrils in particular, have been constantly red. My nostrils are always red now. always. It started with some flaky skin and got really irritated, this feeling that I had to scratch it to alleviate irritation… I no longer have that irritation, but it’s always red now. I feel that’s the first thing people see upon seeing me. My red nostrils.

3. I’m a contact user… and rarely take them out. I’ve noticed recently that my eyes are red. It appears as if my veins are spreading towards the eye from the sides.

4. I have oily skin. When I got my contacts the dr. told me that I could have problems with the contacts because my eyes produced a lot of oil.

5. A while back the area under and above my lips had like this dry skin thing going on. I no longer have that dry skin.

I don’t know if I just may have sensitive skin and making a connection where this is none.

Am I seeing something that’s not there or is it possible I may have rosacea?

I, Derma Diva Marcy, recently moved back to Florida from California. I traded sunny weather for more sunny weather, so I didn’t do too bad!

I have many projects up my sleeve, but in the meantime I’ve been searching postings for opportunities to open my own skin care business.

Although I wasn’t interested in looking further into this particular rental opportunity, this posting blew my mind and I just couldn’t help but write them.

I’ve seen and heard it a million times: “just take your ring finger and gently pat your eye cream under your eyes…don’t want to stretch that skin out!”

I admit, it drives me bonkers.

You’ve heard this before, right?

…and you probably do it at home, right?

Well, I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news but that’s bo-gus! (actually I’m not sorry because that means I’m going to teach you the correct way of doing it!)

Hello once again!

I know we disappeared again, so I wanted to update you all on the latest happenings so you’re not left wondering.

First off, Derma Diva Rosa has had to travel back to Spain to have some surgery done for a hernia that’s been bothering her.

Hello everyone! Derma Diva Marcy here…I know we’ve been MIA for a bit, but I will have to take the fault for that!

I went to Orlando for a little while to visit old friends, family and to catch up on business with Derma Diva Rosa. Let me tell you; I now need a vacation from my ‘vacation’ (if you know what I mean)…but it was SO worth it!

Amidst all the madness, I actually got one day of ‘play’ and I just want to share with you that…I had my first ride on a Harley! (actually, my first ride on a motorcyle, ever!!) as a passenger, of course.

I have to admit, I was TERRIFIED at first, but let me tell you, I had a great driver and I felt totally comfortable in no time.

Not only did I enjoy an entire day of exploring beautiful parts of Florida that I never knew (and of course it didn’t hurt that my ‘driver’ was cute!), but I got some insight to skin care, and more specifically sun protection…surprise, surprise, right?
