How Can My Fat Make Me Look Younger?

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

Have you ever noticed how when someone loses a lot of weight, although their body looks great, they somehow look older and the creases on the face look more pronounced?

By the same token,

have you noticed how when someone is fuller in figure, it helps plump out their face, especially the lines, making them look younger?

Well, IT IS ALL A FAT CHALLENGE.

This is what Dr. Mark Berman, President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, believes aging is about.

It is not just about wrinkles or lack of elasticity as we been led to believe…

What’s Wrong With This Picture?

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

I, Derma Diva Marcy, recently moved back to Florida from California. I traded sunny weather for more sunny weather, so I didn’t do too bad!

I have many projects up my sleeve, but in the meantime I’ve been searching postings for opportunities to open my own skin care business.

Although I wasn’t interested in looking further into this particular rental opportunity, this posting blew my mind and I just couldn’t help but write them.

Let’s see if you can tell me what’s wrong with it.

Which one of these is not like the other?

(Hint: It has to do with the services they want to offer)

Let’s take a look, shall we?…

Is There A Correct Way To Massage An Eye Cream?

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

I’ve seen and heard it a million times: “just take your ring finger and gently pat your eye cream under your eyes…don’t want to stretch that skin out!”

I admit, it drives me bonkers.

You’ve heard this before, right?

…and it’s most likely how you apply your eye cream, right?

Well, I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news but that’s bo-gus! (actually I’m not sorry because that means I’m going to teach you the correct way of doing it!)

Do I Need An Eye Cream?

Friday, September 5th, 2008

There are two parts to this question.

You’re probably asking yourself:

1. Do I need an eye cream (and when do I know to begin using one?)

and

2. Can I just use my moisturizer around my eyes?

Well, my friends, to answer the first of these two questions, you need to keep in mind that the skin around the eyes is the thinnest on the face and the most susceptible to damage.

With the thousands of expressions we make in a day, big or small (smiling, squinting, etc.), can you imagine how this skin is stretched, crinckled, pulled and in general, moved about?

Think of this: haven’t you been able to see anger, happiness or sadness in someone’s eyes?

The point we’re trying to make is we use our eyes a lot!

(We would recommend begin using an eye cream as a preventive measure by your mid-twenties for best results in the future.)

To address the second question; (which we’ve been asked pretty regularly) the bottom line is using your moisturizer around your eyes is definitely better than nothing…but it’s not enough.

Did You Know Your Eyelashes Age?

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Everyone I know (and for certain, women) love the idea of having long, abundant and healthy eyelashes.

Look at the trend of eyelash extensions…at least in Los Angeles, we see it quite a bit.

Do you wish your lashes were longer?

Thicker?

I had a client just today that told me that as soon as she got into her 30’s her eyelashes went from being very long (to the point that when she applied her mascara they would touch her brows!), to having them be  sparse and stubby.

Has this happened to you?

If it has, you know that it’s shocking and you want answers and hopefully a solution.
