I  had to write a few words to wish you a Happy New Year and offer a few words for 2009!

I know that to expand your horizons you have to be willing to lose sight of the shore, and I also know that change can sometimes feel uncomfortable (and scary!)

Right?

But I also know change is necessary and getting out of your comfort zone is always a good way to expand and evolve…

…And in running an after-Christmas errand, I had an idea:

Christmas Thoughts and Wishes…

December 26th, 2008

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! I hope your holidays have been wonderful.

Can you believe it’s this time of year again?

Where did the year go?…

Next week it’ll be 2009 and we’ll be close to a decade into the new millenium.

The whole Y2K scare was almost 10 years ago!!!

Can you believe it?!

Doesn’t it seem like yesterday???

Well, this year Derma Diva Rosa, my brother, my father and myself decided to spend Christmas away from Los Angeles, in Paso Robles, 4 hours north of Lala Land (btw– my parents are actually divorced, but we still manage to spend the Holidays together as a family from time to time, which I feel so blessed for!)

It’s wine country up here and quite beautiful…it was something new we decided to try this year. To be honest, it’s working out quite nicely! This may actually become a family tradition.

So, here we go!

Dear Derma Divas-

One lady [client] I had used to break out (normal pimples) in the cheek area…lymph node/cheek bone area. Now her skin is clear. [She has] soft but smooth, red bumps that are only visible WITHOUT makeup. As if it’s under the skin? She has exfoliated…no result. Tried many different things. What is the cause of this?

Kate

Well Kate, there are a few things going on here.

First let’s look at the area the break outs were occuring…

Are You Happy?

December 10th, 2008

I have to confess, it’s been a bumpy road.

When my mother and I undertook this whole business, we didn’t realize all the bits and pieces it would take to get things moving.

What Are Chirally Correct Products?

November 24th, 2008

I’m sure many of you have not familiarized yourself with this term yet. However, it will become more and more popular…

Have you ever come across a product with excellent ingredients that only makes your skin itchy, and leaves your skin feeling dry when it’s supposed to do the exact opposite?

Have you ever been recommended a product that’s worked wonders for 75% of everyone that’s used it, but for some reason it just gives you an adverse reaction?

This has to do with the chirality of the products’ ingredients, my friends.

There are many products out there that have excellent formulations and ingredients, but regardless won’t work to their full potential.

In some cases, not only are these products ineffective, but they can actually cause allergic reactions and release free-radicals, among other things.

Researchers in skin care and pharmaceutical industries are becoming wise to the importance of the chirality of ingredients.

What is it you ask?

Well, let us tell you…
